Network Switches
DrayTek provides 4 different types of network switches and a Switch management platform, the DrayTek switch is a tool that offers a bank of additional Ethernet ports for wired appliances, allowing multiple connected devices within one local network
Network Switches:- DrayTek network switches come with Power over Ethernet (‘P’ models) perfect for IP phones and IP cameras, and wireless access points. They all include web interface for configuration, monitoring and management. Remote management is also supported through VigorACS platform. (see below).
Ethernet Switches:- VigorSwitch ‘G’ switches are standard Gigabit Ethernet network switches. VigorSwitch models with an ‘x’ suffix also feature 10Gb capabilities. Many models feature SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) or SFP+ module slots to connect the switch’s Ethernet ports to various types of Fibre, with standard SFP transceivers. The whole DrayTek VigorSwitch range can be managed with router-based Central Switch Management, the free VigorConnect management software, or from the cloud, with the VigorACS Central Management platform. Monitor network usage, provision VLAN configurations, set individual port rates and schedule port operation all from a single point of management.
Gigabit Switches:- PoE (Power over Ethernet) available on DrayTek switches with ‘P’ can be used with IP phones, IP cameras, and wireless access points. A Virtual LAN (IEEE 802.1q) feature is supported on all models for network segmentation. Some Gigabit switches have additional SFP ports as an alternative way of connectivity that is useful while linking two switches together over a longer distance. Every DrayTek managed gigabit switch can be configured via the web interface, or locally through the Vigor Central Switch Management or VigorConnect. Remote management is available through VigorACS platform.
PoE Switches:- DrayTek have an extensive range of Power over Ethernet or ‘PoE’ switches, many of which also provide DrayTek’s IP Camera Management system, for easy installation and management of IP CCTV cameras. All of the VigorSwitch models featured here have Power over Ethernet on all RJ-45 LAN ports, with a high-power budget per switch. Smaller PoE switch models are fanless, for silent operation, while larger switches are fan cooled for reliable operation when installed in a rack. If you’re running larger PoE switches outside of a rack-mounted environment, Smart-Fan models offer quieter fan operation, based on PoE load. Each PoE port on a VigorSwitch supports both IEEE 802.3af PoE and 802.3at PoE+ (up to 30 watts per port) to power advanced PoE devices, such as IP phones, Wi-Fi access points and outdoor IP cameras. DrayTek’s VigorSwitches provide excellent remote management and monitoring of PoE, with VigorACS cloud management. Smart PoE management features like Device Check, ensure reliable operation of both the switch and its connected PoE devices.
Switch Management:- A DrayTek VigorSwitch can work in standalone mode and be managed through its web interface or, if your client needs to manage and monitor the switch remotely – or they have several DrayTek switches to administer – they can centrally manage them with:
- Router Switch Management – Manage a switch connected to a router and determine network topology at a glance
- DrayTek VigorConnect – Manage and provision up to 100 Vigor switches and access points on a single site
- DrayTek VigorACS – Manage and provision multiple DrayTek switches on any network, from anywhere
